So I wake and check the news in the Hello! Project world, to see that half of Hello! Project is graduating in March.
What...!? Its not as though some of their graduations weren't expected (Nakazawa, Melon, Yasuda), but did they ALL have to graduate??
Even the young'uns on Ongaku Gatas are graduating...!
And Yossieeeee D: D: D: And Abe! and Matsuura!!! and...everyone....
I really honestly, do not know how to react. I don't think this big of a graduation has ever happened within Hello! Project, or other idol groups for that matter. This must be sad for them too. Some of them have spent literally 10 years within Hello! Project, and now they have to look for some other label to continue their career (or start a quieter life).
And what will happen of the new unit HANGRY&ANGRY? I guess they must be a one-shot group.
...At this point in time, my guess is that the more popular girls (Abe, Fujimoto, Matsuura, Melon Kinenbi, Ongaku Gatas (?)) Will release one last single before March, as a good bye.
But after March...I have no idea. I can see Matsuura, Fujimoto, Abe, Yossie, Ishikawa, the younger Gatas, and maybe Yaguchi getting a new sort of career and being sort of successful in the future. I don't know about the others, though. D:
It is a sad day...
Well, laziness has gotten the best of me. I have too many posts to finish, so I'll just combine two! Yay~! Thankfully, the reviews I'm combining will kind of make sense: Abe Natsumi's "Iki wo Kasanemashou" and Koharu Kusumi's "Chance!". Both are solo artists, so it makes sense to me!
I'll start with Nacchi!
Iki wo Kasanemashou
The Song:
Like Morningberryz says, its a 'sweet ska' type of song. Its calming and its very nice to listen to...its about as upbeat as a song is going to get for the older solo artists these days, isn't it...? As usual, Nacchi's voice sounds very pretty and conveys emotion into the lyrics well. Theres nothing bad to say about this song, but theres nothing really good to say about it either.
The PV:
A very simple but nice PV! Thankfully its not so simple its "Cheap" looking. I really enjoy how the clothes Nacchi wears makes her stand out in the grass and on the beach. Both Outfits are great with a bold color, Pink or a really pretty green. The poloroids are probably my favorite part, though...they give the PV a 'classic' feel, in my opinion :D
The C/W: Shousetsu no naka no Futari
Am I the only one who thinks the beginning of this song sounds like the song that plays when you turn on FFX-2? Haha, not that its a bad song, it just reminds me of it. This is...a ballad. Huge surprise, huh? Regardless, its a very pretty and much more interesting than some...I'm not usually too fond of ballads, but I actually think I like this C/W more than the actual single!
Hm...this is a hard one.... 8.5/10? Yeah, that sounds about right.
And now for peppy song! Koharu's Chance!
The Song:
I have to say, her voice is better with every single. That doesn't mean its all that favorable to listen to...but I do give her props for improving! I have to say, real instruments do give the single more points. Unless its a song that shouldn't have real instruments, like a techno one.....Anyway! Like an anime opening for an anime aimed towards younger girls should be, this song is happy, upbeat, and makes you want to bounce up and down. Like Happy, it has a fun melody, but unlike Happy, it doesn't give me headaches after listening due to the song being a bit too high for Koharu. No, I'm not insulting her, her voice range just wasn't made for that song. This is one of the few times when I find myself watching Koharu and not getting annoyed. :D
Its good to see that Koharu's Single's PV's look less and less cheap with each one. While there was some green screen time, it fit in with the PV (with the whole story book-thing)! The PV continues the star and circular pedestal-thing, which is great, because they means there will be a dance I that I will like! And I was right, there is! I am in the process of learning it :D. Back to the PV....while its very...pink, there is some other colors, such as in the book or on her dress. Which, by the way, is very fun. Her short one reminds me of Berryz Koubou's during the..concert (I can't remember the name!) Her long one is a bold red! Both would be great for cosplay....hmm......Back on to subject, the best part of the PV: the very end when Koharu 'pokes' the screen and it jiggles like jello! Its really fun!
The C/W: Ramutara
Kirarin Revolution must have a thing with Russian/Indian-influenced-things. I've only seen the first...three? episodes, so I cannot tell the mystery of the Russian/Indian Music. While its really repetitive, the song is almost kind of fun...except for the fact that Koharu's is pretty much yelling the song. Or at least, thats what it sounds like. Its a bit awkward to be sung, but I'm sure her little fangirls don't mind.
The PV and Song were pretty good, but the C/W was...pretty bad!! So, It gets a 7.5/10.
I would also like to wish Tanaka Reina a little-bit-belated happy birthday :D
